TIGER TIMES
January 6th, 2023 - January 13, 2023
Happy New Year
LOTS of important information it this week's Newsletter.
We had a great week at Titus!
The transition back "to school" took a day or two, but our Titus Tigers are back into the groove and ready to learn and grow.
We will hold our monthly PAW for PRIDE student assembly on Friday, January 13th which will serve as a reminder/reset of our Points of Pride with some celebration and fun too.
I look forward to the start of a great year and wish you a wonderful week.
Mrs. Helen Sclama Zaleski
TITUS INFORMATION
TITUS DISMISSAL REMINDERS
Car Line Start Time - 3:10PM
I will be outside to help with this emerging problem for the next several days and will ask any cars arriving before 3:10PM to kindly return at the designated time.
I sincerely thank you for working with me to keep all students and families safe during our busy dismissal time.
Mrs. Helen Sclama Zaleski
PICK UP LOCATION - FRONT OF SCHOOL
Students are not to be picked up at the back area as this interferes with bus dismissal and also is a safety issue for our Titus students who are walkers and bus riders.
Staff be outside to help to redirect any cars who are in the incorrect pick-up area for the next several days.
I sincerely thank you for working with me to keep all students and families safe during our busy dismissal time.
Mrs. Helen Sclama Zaleski

Titus 6th Grader Organizes Clothing Drive
Through her efforts, she collected many coats, gloves, and hats that she hand-delivered to the non-profit organization - Cradles to Crayons.
We are so proud of Swara! Thank you for your hard work and compassion and for allowing Titus to help with this great cause!
School Store is Back!
We will have our Grand Re-opening on Wednesday, January 11th. Students will once again be able to purchase any supplies that start to go missing after the winter break. The store is located in the cafeteria and is staffed by a responsible group of our sixth graders. This year the school store will be open each Wednesday morning before announcements. Check out the Supply List below to see a list of the items and prices. Happy Shopping!

5th & 6th Grade History Club
5th and 6th Grade History Club- Winter Session
The Titus History Club is where students who like learning about people, places, and events of the past get together with others who share their interest. Each week you learn something about history and do an activity. We play games, make or build things, watch videos, and sometimes host guest speakers. The winter session is on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 PM Jan. 31st - Mar.7th. We welcome returning and new members.
IMPORTANT: Interest in the History Club continues to grow, but unfortunately, we need to put a limit on the number of people in the club. We would love to include everyone who is interested, but we cannot.
Here’s how to sign up:
1. Use this link from January 6th- 18th https://forms.office.com/r/w6MTGYXqKG to enter your 5th or 6th grader into the History Club lottery.
2. On January 18th, names will randomly be chosen to be in the winter session.
3. Everyone will be notified of their status by January 20th .
Note: If your child was on the waiting list for the fall session, and you responded to the interest email in December, a spot has been reserved for your child in the winter session.
If you have any questions, email Mrs. Schorpp hniemeyerschorpp@cbsd.org
Recess Information
Will They Go Outside?
As we approach the coldest time of the year, please look over the information below regarding outside recess. I will monitor the weather daily and make decisions on what will be best.
Please be sure that your child is dressed to be outdoors and remind him/her that wearing a coat and cold weather gear is important during our cold Winter months.
Thank you for your help and support.

Teacher Wish Lists
Here are a few of Titus' favorite things...
Looking for ways to help your child’s teacher in their classroom? Or maybe you have some extra items laying around your craft room or kids’ rooms and are wondering if a teacher could use them?
Home & School asked Titus teachers to share with us “A Few of Their Favorite Things” and have compiled their lists into a handy dandy document that you can view HERE. You can see what types of items they could use the most for their classrooms, a list of their favorite things, as well as any dietary restrictions they may have, and what parents/caregivers can do to help them the most.
This list will stay active for the rest of the year, so make sure you check back for updates!
Thank you for your support of Titus and our AMAZING teachers!!!!
Volunteers Needed
Can you help?
While we are only halfway through the schoolyear, we are starting to connect with parents/caregivers that are interested in volunteering during the 2023-2024 school year. We are looking for people who are especially interested in:
- · Serving as a board member on the Home & School Board
- · Serving as a committee member on the:
- Secret Shop Committee
- Yearbook Committee
- Book Fair Committee
We will be holding an info meeting in January after the holidays for those who are interested in learning more! Keep an eye out in the Tiger Times for more info and a meeting date!
