FAQ EOC
What are EOCs?
These state assessments are designed to reflect the Missouri Learning Standards, which are a set of expectations for Missouri’s students in Algebra I & II, English II, Biology, and Government. The goal of these state assessments is to reflect the learning that has transpired over the course of the year. While we at Liberty understand that these state assessments are one measure of student achievement, they do reflect the teaching and learning of our population and are used to inform our teaching and learning at a local level.
If you would like to know more about DESE’s guidelines a.k.a. “Blueprints” for each tested area, please click here for all of the Missouri EOC Blueprints. : https://dese.mo.gov/media/pdf/eoc-blueprints
What classes take EOC exams?
Algebra I, SOME Algebra II (ask your teacher to see if it is required for you), English II, Government, and Biology.
How does the EOC affect my grade?
EOCs are worth 15% of the EOC-tested class you are enrolled in.
How long does my student have to complete their exam?
Students have as long as they need to complete an exam.
Is it important to be at school during testing blocks?
EOCs are important exams for our students and we take testing very seriously here at Liberty. To that end, if your student is testing during one of those time frames, we would ask that students are minimally disrupted with sign-outs for doctors’ appointments or other reasons. If students do miss a test, they will be pulled to test in an alternative environment, upon their return.
What if my student is in Tech school, CAPS, or another alternative program?
Your student will follow their traditional schedule and attend their special program as normal*. If they miss an EOC we will pull them during an alternative time to test them.
*Pearce Hall will follow our EOC schedule and have buses that coordinate with our special schedule.
All of the exams are completed on the student's Chromebook and are completed during the school day. Students taking an English II exam will need wired headphones if possible for testing (we will have a few loaners). Students will be taking their exams in the classroom with their course teacher. Finally, if your student is testing during any of the timeframes, we encourage them to get a good night's rest, eat breakfast and come to school with their Chromebook charged.
Finals Schedule
FAQ Finals
All students will participate in finals as determined by their individual teachers.
My student took an EOC, do they still have a final?
Individual EOC teachers will determine the activity that takes place during final timeslots. Many times this is a unit test or cumulative project for example.
Why do seniors have some classes that have different final times?
In order to accommodate seniors releasing a day early and still honoring our tradition of the bridge walk we had to add additional time slots for senior finals with teachers having the option to create a two-day final to accommodate the typical length of a final. Please note senior finals for 6th, 7th, and 8th hours are spread across two days (5/22 & 5/23).
What will 9th - 11th grade students be doing during 6th, 7th, and 8th hours on 5/22 & 5/23?
These students will be participating in their class as normal. Their finals are set for May 25th.
Why do we have 9th hour on a Wednesday?
9th hour will be used to collect senior Chromebooks and host our annual bridge walk. During this time 9th - 11th grade students will be able to utilize this as study hall time and participate in our annual assembly leading to the bridge walk.
How will a final affect my grade?
Finals are worth 15% of your semester grade.
Will lunch be served on May 24th & 25th?
Yes, a grab-and-go style lunch will be served on both days.
Bridge Walk Specifics
- Loved ones who wish to attend our annual Bridge Walk should arrive by 11:30 am on May 24th.
- Please position on "the other side" (athletic side) of the bridge.
- Anticipate senior students exiting across the bridge between 11:30 - 11:45 am.
- Please park in the Athletic complex lot. Historically parking can be hard to come by, please carpool if convenient.
Dear Junior Parents and Students,
Looking ahead to the 2023-24 school year, please note that all students entering the 12th grade must have received at least one dose of MCV after their 16th birthday. Typically they will have received one dose prior to 8th grade and the second dose after their 16th birthday.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has mandated that the Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MCV4) be required for all (virtual and in-person) 12th-grade students. All students starting the 12th grade should have two doses of MCV.
This vaccine is required prior to starting the first day of summer school (even if your child is enrolled in virtual summer school). If your child is not attending summer school, then the record of this immunization is required by the first day of school for the 2022-23 school year.
*** If your student has already received his/her shot for their senior year, please fax or email an up-to-date record to the nurse’s office as soon as possible. This will ensure a much smoother transition into the new school year. If you are not sure if your student is up-to-date, please contact your child’s physician.***
Thank you for your attention to this important matter. Please contact the school nurse if you have any questions regarding this vaccine requirement.
Sincerely,
Lisa Terbrock, BSN, RN, NCSN

The results continue for our amazing students. Please join us in congratulating the following students who were recognized and scored in the top 25% of their category (12 of our 14 competitors received this award). National High School Journalism Convention Results
Twelve publication students traveled to San Francisco for the Spring JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention April 19-23. The team won multiple awards that represented yearbook, magazine, online news, and broadcast media.
The upcoming yearbook got second place out of all the schools in its division. Our book last year was presented with an award for being named a Pacemaker finalist, which is the top national award you can get.
This was an amazing trip and Mr. Hall was so proud of how these students not only represented our school but also our state. They visited Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, the Painted Ladies (Full House) and rode on a double-decker bus across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Please help us by recognizing these students in a big congratulations if you see them around: Rhett Cunningham, Alix Queen, Parker Sethaler, Braden Altrup, Gavin Block, Sydney Davis, Julia Wiley, Megan Geisler, Liz Hayes, Zoe Snell, Lilly Fister, and Lilly Brown.
