Parent Volunteers Needed for Student Fundraiser Committee
This year the WHS Band has decided to try a new activity for the Student Fundraiser that we hope will become an annual tradition for the Band.
The First Annual Wakeland Band Top Golf Experience will be Monday January 15th, 2018. This Martin Luther King Day, so the staff and students have the day off school. The event starts at 9am and runs until 1:00pm. Breakfast and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
This will be a fun as well as competitive activity as we will have games for Golfers of all skills or no skills. The students will be selling tickets, getting sponsors, getting auction/raffle items, and helping with check-in and award presentations. We would like to have a silent auction or raffle to help fundraising at this event.
We are in need of Parent Volunteers to assist the Ways & Means Chairperson, Steve Kopp, and be on a Committee to plan this Event. Help is needed for Planning, Online Ticket Sales/Website, Auction/Raffle donation coordination, publicity and brainstorming fun ideas for the event.
If you have any questions or are interested in being on this Committee, please email Steve Kopp at booster-waysandmeans@wakelandband.com or call (214) 449-8115.
School Year Rehearsal Schedule

Event Volunteer Signups
Volunteering for an organization as large and as successful as the Wakeland band takes everyone to make sure our students and staff can continue to be efficient and well cared for.
To make the organization run, just for games and contests, here are some stats:
728 volunteer spots
517 spots of those filled. Thank you!!
211 spots open to finish out the season
230 families (approx)
74 families have volunteered more than once 32%
26 families have volunteered at least once 11%
100 total families have volunteered at 43%
One great things about volunteering is that you get to meet the kids your student hangs out with. I appreciate the opportunity to have an active part in my student's life while getting to hang out with some of the best adults around. While we can never expect 100% of families to volunteer due to family matters, health, etc, we would love to see that percentage rise to at least 75% participation. If you feel you are unqualified...we all were at one time! Just sign up and see what the excitement is all about.
