Tustumena Elementary News
January 28, 2019
Dear Tustumena Families,
We have lots of fun going on this week, with Battle of the Books and the start of Skiing, but unfortunately, it also seems like there's a lot of illness going around. Let's all work together stay healthy. Practice lots of hand washing and get enough sleep. Please remember the school district policy regarding when kids need to stay home from school - if there has been a fever of 100.0 or higher or vomiting in the last 24 hours, two episodes of diarrhea, red/swollen/itchy eye(s) draining clear/yellow/green discharge, or a persistent and frequent cough. These conditions do not allow your child to participate in the educational environment of the classroom and are usually contagious to the other children and the staff. In addition, if you feel your child needs and over-the-counter cold, flue, or pain reliever in the morning due to illness, please don't send him or her to school. In most cases students who have taken these medications are not able to remain in the classroom once the medication has worn off. Thank you for partnering with us to help provide the most healthful environment possible for your child and for all of us in our school.
