Good Morning WPMS-
Thank you for those that were able to join us during our 1st Virtual Open House on Thursday night. We truly enjoyed connecting with you and putting names to faces. If you were unable to join us, you can check out our presentation here: 2020 WPMS Virtual Open House .
As we settle into our school routines, please remind your student to bring a clean mask each day. We know mornings are busy and we have had an increase of students forgetting their masks. Just a few tips:
- Keep an extra mask in the backpack
- A mask should be washed before the next wear
- Attach a mask to lanyard when not wearing
With Mr.Woolf's announcement yesterday, we will be reviewing shifts in routines with our students on Monday. Our students have been doing an amazing job of following health and safety protocols each day.
On Monday, students will be starting a new enrichment class! We know our enrichment teachers are excited to meet their new students and kick-off a new experience!

We are very proud of the community students are building in their mentor classes and cohorts. It is amazing to see students supporting each other in the classroom and the kindness they demonstrate towards each other everyday. Have a great weekend!

WPMS Weekly Focus
Mentor teachers have starting weekly mentor meetings with their students. These relationships are a key academic and social emotional support at WPMS. Mentors will help monitor academic progress, set goals, action steps, and foster reflection. These week 81% of students had a check-in with their mentor.
Parenting Hack: Your child's mentor teacher is a great point of contact when you have questions or concerns about progress. Reach out to them!
WPMS Family Meetings: Coming in October!
WPMS Family Support
WPMS is interested in helping all students and families meet their full potential. Stressors during school and outside of school hours can impact learning. During this unprecedented time, many families are encountering uncertainty, are in need of resources, or might need someone to talk to. If you or members of your family are experiencing hardships and would like assistance, please reach out to the WPMS family and Community Liaison, Laura Magnuson at 719-686-2216 or lmagnuson@wpsdk12.org.
