Four Elected to Johnston Board of Ed
Following the November 5, 2019 elections, the Johnston Board of Education welcomed four new faces to the board. Katie Fiala, Alicia Clevenger, Soneeta Mangra-Dutcher, and Jennifer Chamberland have been elected for a four-year board term.
Thank you to the nine outstanding citizens who ran for a board spot and thank you to our citizens for voting!

JHS Veterans Day Assembly - Nov. 11
In honor of Veterans Day, all area veterans and activity duty military personnel and their families are invited to attend the Johnston High School Veterans Day Assembly on Monday, November 11. There will be a guest speaker as well as performances by the JHS choir and band students to honor our military students and their families. The event starts at 9:15 a.m. in the JHS gymnasium.

SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
Superintendent Laura Kacer reviewed Goal #3: Danielson Evaluation Implementation. Recently, model teachers were given a survey on using the Frontline application to enter information for the Danielson evaluation. Kacer reviewed the data and next steps with board members.UPCOMING MEETINGS
Board meetings will now be held at the new district office, located at 6510 NW 62nd Ave., Johnston. The last November meeting will be held on Nov. 18, starting at 6 p.m. There will be a board member reception and new district office open house prior to the meeting on the 18th. Community members are welcomed and encouraged to attend the open house from 5-6 p.m.
