Muskingum Valley ESC - February 2019
Muskingum Valley ESC is currently scheduling “Celebration of Seuss 2019”
Join us for this fun, interactive lesson to celebrate the birthday of the beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss! This distance learning event focuses on fun facts about Theodor Seuss Geisel and his classic story “Green Eggs and Ham”. Students will "show what they know" when they play "The Feud - Seuss Style" against other classrooms. Then students will express their creative side while completing a craft especially designed for this program. It’s a “Seussical” good time!

February 14 - 8:30 a.m. School Counselors Forum with Google Training
Join this collaborative network planned and presented by area school counselors. February's meeting will include Google training before the forum. Google Classroom and Forms with Willa Marie Jackson of Zanesville City Schools and Alicia Stockler of Sheridan High School will be from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m.; Google Apps and Extensions with Michelle Neal of Zanesville Middle School will be from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. The forum will be held from 12:15 - 2:15 p.m. The Google training will be held in the Mahoney Lab (1st floor), and the forum will be in the Muskingum Room (2nd floor) at Muskingum Valley ESC.
February 22 - 8:30 a.m. Math Tool Kit for Mathematical Standards with Dr. Ky Davis
Teachers K-12 - Dr. Ky Davis gives teachers the foundation to strengthen students’ fluency, develop deeper understanding of grade-level standards, improve number sense through place value and operation, and use visual models to improve critical areas. Attend this session to learn how to use grade-level resources to support the standards:
- Focus and flowcharts
- Pretests
- Student monitoring chart
- Subtopic scaffolding staircase
- Lesson-plan activities
Differentiation is built into this training.
February 25 - 8:30 a.m. Curriculum Council
Join the MVESC Curriculum Council Network to:
- Learn from others and generate ideas!
- Hear how others are approaching best practices, state requirements and common educational topics.
- Stay updated on current legislature, current research, state requirements and district happenings!
- Energize your leadership and learning skills through collaborative conversations, shared learning experiences and brainstorming!
- Connect with with other leaders to learn new and better ways of doing things!
February 26 - 9:00 a.m. Elem/MS/HS Principal Collaborative
Join this collaborative of principals to discuss, share and reflect on current educational practices. Each session includes a speaker, a superintendent panel, a program highlight or tour, lunch and an open forum.
The February collaborative will be held at Coshocton City Schools with Deb Kennedy speaking on Leading Evaluation, Coaching and Professional Growth.
