What's Up At The Nest...
Principal's Message
We had a wonderful week of learning and fun! On Tuesday, we celebrated our October HOOT winners with a principal lunch and Pictionary. We are so proud of our students and their display of HOOT behavior each and every day.
Have a great weekend!

OMS Family Reading Night: Books Spark Imagination!
Please come and celebrate books at the OMS Family Reading Night on Thursday, November 21 from 6:30-8:00 pm. There will be a rotation of activities within classrooms and the LMC as well the opportunity to attend a presentation given by one of two illustrators.
All children must be accompanied by an adult at this event. Some of the activities will be: doing a tech activity related to graphic novels, flashlight reading, using legos to make designs connected to books, listening to picture books and making arts and crafts, and attending storytimes organized by librarians from the Arlington Heights Library.
Please help us plan ahead by filling out this quick survey to let us know if you’ll attend. Also, if you would like to order a signed, personalized book by one of the Reading Night presenters, please visit the LMC website to download an order form. We’d like to have orders by Tuesday, Nov. 12 if possible.
Winter Clothing
All students go outside for recess as long as our temperatures are above zero degrees. If your child is fighting you on wearing warm clothing - feel free to use the phrase "The principal's said so!"

ABC25 Foundation
Ever wonder where those Osmos, BeeBots and Lego Walls came from? These came from grants that are made possible by the ABC/25 Foundation! The ABC/25 Foundation is a non-for-profit organization founded by a group of caring parents to give A Better Community for District 25 by fostering innovation, creativity and excellence in our schools. Over the past 24 years, the Foundation has raised and contributed over one million dollars to fund numerous projects and grants for District 25 which directly impact students and teachers!
Are you a member of the ABC/25 Foundation? If not, you're missing out on an amazing way to support the D25 schools! Proceeds from the $40 family memberships go directly to fund grants that allow D25 teachers and staff to access tools and resources that aren't available through curriculum budgets. Learn more about the wonderful things ABC/25 is doing in our community at www.abc25.org and become a member here!
