Enjoy a day with renowned artist and teacher Mary Beth Shaw as you personally design covers and scrumptious page layers for your art journals!

Mary Beth Shaw works in Mixed Media because she "loves to play with art supplies." The owner of StencilGirl Products, she uses stencils on anything that will hold still. Her spontaneous processes utilize paint, ink, marker along with collage, fabric and texture mediums. She welcomes so-called 'mistakes' because they "lead to wonderful opportunities." She works in a variety of mediums including collage, acrylic, encaustic and most recently, Art Journals. She credits the Art Journal with "saving her mind."

Mary Beth Shaw

Mary Beth worked in the insurance industry for 18 years before one day she went crazy and quit her job. While exploring her creativity, she re-ignited her inner artist. She is now ecstatic to support herself as as full time mixed media painter and nationally known workshop instructor. She enjoys helping students find their voice and teaching them to critically assess their own work so they can grow as an artist.

Having hand-cut her own stencils for years, Mary Beth dipped her toe into the stencil design business in 2010. Expanding StencilGirl to team up with other artists is the fulfillment of her dream to provide the highest quality artist designed stencils for the mixed media world.

Mary Beth is the author of Flavor for Mixed Media published by North Light and is also a Columnist for Somerset Studios. Living in Wildwood, MO with her husband and 3 cats, Mary Beth is passionate about every moment of life.
