Wakeland Band Family -

I hope you all had a relaxing 3-day weekend! We are in the final stretch of the school year!

This week we are looking forward to our annual percussion concert! Percussion families, see below for your seat reservation. All other band families, please check out the concert on facebook live, this Friday at 7:00pm!

HYPE DAY 2021-2022!!!!

Please check out the Hype Day and Registration Day schedule below. We are extremely excited for the event to kick off the 2021 school year!

2021-2022 Wind Symphony and Percussion Students:

We will be having an informational meeting for the Midwest trip in December on May 4 at 6:00p in the Wakeland Auditorium.

2021-2022 Spring Training Camps:

All current high school students are encouraged to attend our spring training camps. Each Thursday we will be holding marching training camps each Thursday from 4:30-6:30pm. These training camps will help all students practice and refresh their marching fundamentals as we begin evaluation for the 2021 season.

Students need to bring athletic wear, water and a mask for the training camps. All camps will be on the band practice field.

2021-2022 Dates:

For our returning students please begin looking at the 2021-2022 calendar for the fall semester. All marching events leading up to school starting are confirmed. The football schedule has been posted and weekly rehearsals have been locked in and confirmed.

Please remember that for any students to participate in marching band, you must have a current physical on file. Each physical is good for 1 year from the date of the exam. Please take a look ahead to make sure you will have an updated physical on file as soon as the other expires for end of year camps and summer band/fall.

Solo and Ensemble Information

Solo and Ensemble will be virtual this year due to COVID-19. The students will be submitting their solo performances online and be adjudicated by our outstanding panel.

Solo submissions are due on THIS THURSDAY, April 29, 2021 by 4:00p. Judges will adjudicate each solo performance and give each student a rating. Students will have the opportunity to be selected as outstanding soloists for each "room" and will be recognized at band banquet.

Students will not be performing with an accompanist this year due to COVID-19 safety measures.

Specifics for the recordings will be discussed in class and posted in Canvas.
