Carrie Horton, I.W. Evans 5th Grade Teacher, was recognized as the Texas Farm Bureau Teacher of the Month for November!

Carrie knows the academic strengths and deficits of all the students she teaches. She is able to easily build relationship and always maintains a fun atmosphere conducive to learning.

LHR Christmas Angel Shopping Day was Friday, December 10th. Students and staff shopped for 55 LHR students at the Paris Wal-Mart. $8,358.17 was spent to provide (mostly) needs and a few wants for these students. Mrs. Whitlock organized the project and worked hard to obtain donations. Members of the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance staff even joined in the fun and shopped for students! It was an eye-opening experience for all involved. Students and adults alike learned that $150 does not go a long way when trying to provide needed clothing items and shoes as well as 1-2 ‘wants or wishes’.

I am so proud that our community, staff and students are paying it forward and taking care of our own students and working to ensure they have a nice Christmas as well as getting needed clothing and shoes.
