#sparkinfo. Weekly Update
Week 34- April 27th-May 1st
It will be May this week!!
Man! I miss you guys! I hope your week is off to a good start. Thank you for your work to check on students after break.
On Friday, we donated $1800.00 to two needy families after the tornadoes from several weeks ago. They were so grateful, and continue to let us know how much they appreciate everyone who thought of them or gave. Thank you!
As we move into week five, let us remember our priorities:
1) Students are safe at home. If you have any concerns as you do well-checks, please let us know.
2) Students have basic needs such as food met. I believe this is one of our district's primary missions at the moment. (I am personally feeding one family on the weekend. We may want to do a food pantry for weekend food.)
3) Provide consistency and routine for our students as you work through your daily class schedule
I am so grateful for each of you! Please take care of yourself and your family. If I can do anything for you, please don't hesitate to ask!

Virtual Faculty Meetings- Scheduling
This week, we will have virtual meetings on Tuesday with Sixth Grade (12 PM) and Related/SPED (12:30) to discuss scheduling. Some things have changed for next year.
It is important that we continue to interact and collaborate as we move forward navigating a virtual experience. I look forward to seeing you there!

SPARK SPOTLIGHT!!!!
A shout out from your colleague!
Thank you! Have you ever taken the time to recognize those around you? Now is an especially good time to keep it positive! It feels good to recognize others!
Mr. King, Coach Morris, and Mr. Lively- In light of the difficult circumstances we find ourselves in, it's more important than ever that we find encouragement. Our Administrators work to make our virtual school culture a positive one. Whether its through an encouraging email, making sure students have hot spots, or feeding a family who is in need, they give us hope and encouragement. I know this sequestering is an odd time, but here at Pickens Middle we are still growing, and showing strength and love to our community!
Coach Morris- Coach Morris is Tech Savvy. He showed ME how to share my screen with my students. It was pretty crazy when his voice came on and he was telling me how to fix my problem. First of all I didn't even notice he had joined my WebEx class and secondly I didn't know he would have a solution! He is YODA!
Click on the link below as you see and hear great things happening in the building. Please let us know about them by filling out the form. You may want to bookmark the link as we will be "Spotlighting" teachers and staff all year. Please note, this is a new link for this school year.
