Way to Go Bears!! October 28th.
Halloween Door Decorating and Pumpkin Carving/ Decorating
Message from the office.
Hello BCE Community
It has been a very busy 2 weeks here at BCE. We have all had fun getting ready for Halloween. Doors are decorated, pumpkins are carved, and smiling faces are all over. Thank you to all the parents and teachers for the help in making this a special time for our kids. We also had a great soccer game at lunch today. Teacher against 5th graders. Teachers won, but those kids gave us a run for our money.
The Halloween costume parade on 10/31 will be uppers at 9:00 am. Please note that students will NOT be able to have any weapon (even if plastic), masks that cover the face, or costumes that will be a distraction in class (i.e., blow-up costumes). Please note this is all day, including the parade. Each classroom will be doing individual parties in the afternoon. Please reach out to your teacher if you want to support them. We are excited to have this event again after being unable to celebrate for a few years. Parents that will be joining us for the parade we ask that you sign in at the table outside to help to help with the traffic.
This is a friendly reminder for students returning to school following Halloween. We are asking that no open candy be brought to school. For those celebrating “Trick or Treat” or another version of collecting candy, we recommend that students leave their candy at home so their guardians can monitor it. Sugar-high students become interesting in the afternoon, both during the sugar high, and the sugar crash. Thank you for being so supportive.
We had another great awards ceremony today. We honored a few students from each class that showed the character trait RESPECT over the past month. We were also able to recognize those students that have perfect attendance this month. Way to go BEARS. Next month we will be focusing on Gratitude.
Another great Bear Paw store today. Our students are amazing shoppers, and wow, have they been working hard to earn bear paws? Please ask your students how they have earned bear paws and what they were able to buy today.
Finally, we will be starting our GREEN initiatives. Today's assembly taught our students the difference between recycling, composting, and landfilling. We had a great time with a relay and learning how we can do little things to help our earth. Thank you, Teacher Mollie and Ms. Barnett, for leading our team and making learning about recycling and composting so fun.
Parent-teacher conferences are quickly approaching, November 14-18. Please note that we get out early that week. Please see the schedule below for times. Teachers are sending out individual conference schedules. Please make sure you sign up. We want to meet with EVERY family. Communication and collaboration are really important to us.
Thank you to everyone that has already signed up to help on field trips. Please note that it does take time to get through the approval process. Please make sure you plan ahead and have time to get everything in.
As always, please let us know if you need anything. Have a great weekend
