Lunch Reminders
- Please make sure to pack a drink in your child's lunchbox if they do not plan to buy a milk.
- If you are purchasing a parent lunch to eat with your child, please bring in small bills to pay for your lunch.
STUDENT BIRTHDAYS
Birthdays are a special time, but due to the number of Hamilton Southeastern students who have various food allergies, no birthday treats will be allowed at school. Birthday party invitations should be mailed and not handed out at school. The school will not accept flowers, balloons, or gift deliveries of any kind for students. They not only cause a disruption in the classroom, but they also cannot be taken on the bus because they may restrict the driver’s visual field. Instructional time cannot be used for birthday parties or celebrations.
STEM
Fall is in full swing in STEM! We began the new season learning about the Osage Orange tree. Be sure to ask your child if you would want to plant this tree in your backyard….beware of its’ thorny branches! We also had fun building and bowling with hedge apples.
In addition to our fall activities, K/1st gr students completed 4 button challenges after reading Corduroy while 2nd/3rd gr students completed a sun protection challenge. Be sure to ask your child about the Mystery Doug video we watched titled, “Can Animals get a Sunburn?” 4th gr students are getting close to completing their 3D models of amusement parks.
STEM Donations: I am always taking Makerspace donations that you may no longer use at your home. Example items include: building blocks, marble runs, play-doh, coloring books, legos, etc…
Also, I am always taking donations of STEM items: small cardboard boxes, paper towel/toilet paper rolls, markers, glue bottles, cereal boxes, etc…
