ONE DOLLAR DRIVE for MARSHFIELD FOOD PANTRY
Last year, one of our 8th graders was selected to be our Project 351 Ambassador – Greg Fennell. As he is completing his appointment as our Ambassador, he wants to end in huge WE ARE MARSHFIELD way! He has titled it, “One Dollar Drive for Marshfield Food Pantry.” Here is his request:
"I did a little research and discovered that there are approximately 25,000 people who live in Marshfield. Imagine if each person donated just one dollar to benefit the Marshfield Food Pantry? That would be $25,000! Well, my team and I will be doing stand-outs over the next two weeks (December 2nd through December 16th, locations to be announced) to collect that one dollar. We have also placed a donation jar in every school in town. With approximately four thousand students in town, that alone could bring in $4,000! If you have a child in school, could you help us out and send your child in with one dollar and spread the word? Imagine the difference that you could make in the life of someone who is hungry, all for just one dollar? Of course, some people can't afford even one dollar and they are the ones who will most likely benefit from this drive. Others may want to donate a little bit more. It all adds up, no matter the amount. Nobody should go to bed hungry in this town. Won't you help us prevent that? We can do it with our ONE DOLLAR DRIVE FOR MARSHFIELD FOOD PANTRY!!!"
We are asking the FBMS Community to please support Greg and this worthy cause! He has made us proud and we are thrilled to partner with MHS and Greg! All donations can be dropped off at the FBMS office! Thank you!

6TH GRADE TOPS THE LEADER BOARD ON BEST ATTENDANCE THIS WEEK
Tracking attendance is required by law, and making sure all children receive an education is the responsibility of us all. We would like to see your children at school everyday. Students should be out of school for serious issues only such as illness or bereavement. We cannot teach an empty seat.
The articles below provide some suggestions on how to improve a child's attendance.
What Parents Can do to Reduce Absenteeism
Ten Tips to Reduce Chronic Absenteeism
Getting to school on time is another habit to build. When parents say it is okay to be late to their children, they're not helping to develop good habits for success. Please help us by getting your child to school by 7:40AM. Be sure technology is shut down before bed time, and help to create a structured night and morning routine that your child can own and implement.
Starting the day late also increases anxiety. Arriving timely anywhere demonstrates responsibility and is a great habit to build now.
We can't do it without you. Let's build good habits that last a lifetime!
