Happy December!!! We have a lot of great activities coming up this month, and we are also hoping for lots of snow for those who love sledding, skiing, snowboarding and snow-machining. We have a couple weeks left in our basketball season and the players are getting ready for Boroughs on Saturday, December 15, 2016. To help get our Spirit flowing, Student Council will be hosting a Spirit Week that week with Friday being our Husky Pride Colors Day and a Pep Rally. On Friday, we will also have our 2nd quarter Activity Night. Admission will be non-perishable food items for the Homer Pantry.
Homer Middle School will also be adopting two Share the Spirit Families. An Angel Tree will be placed in our school foyer for students wanting to purchase gives for our families. It is amazing how giving our HMS family is and their philanthropy shines throughout the year.
Winter Break is a little later this year, and the last day for students will be December 21st. If your family is planning on an early vacation, please have your child complete the pre-arranged absence form and provide to the office. If you would like additional information, please contact Marilyn at the front office.
I would like to give 2 Special Shout Outs to our students performing in the Nutcracker as well as to our HMS Robotics Team. Both of these groups of students have put in many hours behind the scenes. Good Luck in your performance and competition!
I look forward to seeing you at our Winter Concert on December 14th.
