This Week's Wrap Up
Happy Friday Rockwell Families and Staff,
As we close out week 4 of Remote Learning, I've seen some great teaching and learning! I've seen many Zoom sessions where teachers remain dedicated as ever with teaching math, reading and writing. Some teachers have found creative ways to also blend in Science and Social Studies, and had the counselor and teacher librarian have read books to classes. Our PE and Music teachers, Mr. Tevis and Ms. Overfield also joined classes to do some singing and exercising. Our instructional paraprofessionals are supporting students and teachers by teaching small group lessons and attending classroom Zoom sessions as well. Although the halls at Rockwell are quiet, we are very busy from our remote locations! It has been absolutely amazing to see all the collaborative team work and planning taking place!
Zoom has been a huge learning curve for our staff however; they continue to stretch themselves beyond what they probably imagined. As a proud parent would say, "I always knew they could do it!" Our staff is learning with and from one another despite the distancing. This helps us continue focusing on our students and trying to meet their needs.
Parents, you too are to be commended for staying in the race. Remember the race is not won by the swiftest or strongest but by the ones who endure to the end. I know teachers have reached out to many of our families to just check in and see how you're doing. We want to make sure our Rockwell family is okay. I ask that you also contine to reach out to us. We are here for you whether it's something big or small.
Enjoy your weekend that is well deserved!
