What?

The scientific method is a step-by-step process that researchers or scientist use to help understand why things happen the way that they do.

Step 1:

The first step in the Scientific method is to find a problem and ask why your problem happened.

Step 2:

The second step in the Scientific method is to make observations to figure out what is happening with your problem.

Step 3:

The third step in the Scientific method is to make in inference about what was happening with your problem. You use the stuff that you learned about your problem from your observations.

Step 4:

The fourth step in the Scientific method is to make a hypothesis. A hypothesis is a conclusion that can be tested.

The fifth and final step of the scientific method is to experiment on your hypothesis.
