This week we are learning about the letter K, the number 11, ten frames, and all about animals and where they live.-Ms. Ingroum
This week, we are learning to make healthy choices. We will discuss healthy foods and have some fun reading "The Little Red Hen." We are also practicing letter Ll and number 11 and will continue to review shapes. Please help your child practice identifying letters and numerals at home. -Mrs. Vasquez

2A/2C ELA- Hope you enjoyed your break! This week we will focus on blending words with long i patterns ie and igh. Our story of the week is "Wilma Rudolph: Against All Odds," in which we will focus on synthesizing and Text Features. For writing, we will learn about Proper Nouns as Days of the Week, Months, and Holidays. We will write our Personal Essay Rough Draft on Wednesday/Thursday using the bubble chart we created before the break. Homework will be practicing "cursive" letters on Monday's and Tuesday's. We will take our story quiz and weekly assessment on Friday!!!! Please don't be absent, as those assessments count for a big percentage of your overall grade in ELA. -Ms. B.Martinez
This week we will be learning about figurative language. Students will identify different types of figurative language as we read our story of the week. We will be working on spelling words with long 'o' vowel sounds. Please make sure students are reading at least 20 minutes each day! -Ms. Brown

In science we will study TEKS5.8D. The student is expected to identify and compare the physical characteristics of the Sun, Earth, and Moon.
In social studies we'll look at a Gentleman, a Soldier and a Patriot by the name of George Washington. When he was 16, George worked as a land surveyor for a British landowner. At 22, he earned a position as an officer in the British military. He fought in battles during the French and Indian War.-Mr. Walton
This week in Reading we are studying the genre of Mysteries. Students will be reviewing key skills on inference and using evidence to support their understanding of an informational text, along with other skills to prepare them for the upcoming District Assessments next week. Students should also be catching up on any late work that is due to get ready for the upcoming grades that will be coming out soon. Thank you for encouraging your student to be present on time for the zoom with their camera on and to be ready to learn while completing all assignments and exit tickets in a timely manner. Hello 5th grade parents and guardians! We are moving into our unit on algebra. Students will be learning how to create an equation based on a word problem and solve that equation as well as learning the\order of operations or "PEMDAS".
