Upcoming Parent Events
Reading Difficulty Discussion
On January 15th the district will be hosting a parent meeting to continue discussions about our initiatives pertaining to assessment and instruction for students with reading difficulties, including dyslexia. The meeting will be held at Mill Pond from 6:30 to 8:00.
If you have a child who has had reading difficulties, including dyslexia, please take our very brief survey.
Square One Event - "The Secret Lives of Teens & Tweens"
Come join us on Thursday, January 16th in the WHS Auditorium at 6:30pm!
"The Secret Lives of Teens" is a high-energy presentation that actively focuses on what teens are really thinking, what they fear, why they do not share more, and how adults can effectively support the teens in their lives. This presentation covers areas such as depression, suicide, 'acting out' behaviors, drug and alcohol use, and more.
Participants will leave the workshop with:
Strategies they can implement immediately
New ways of understanding teens and their behaviors
Innovative techniques for engaging teens
Confidence, courage, and new language to use with teens
Parent Math Night
Date: Thursday, January 30, 2020 (Snowdate: Tuesday, February 4, 2020 )
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Location: Mill Pond School Auditorium
Presented by: Jenny Deane, Ph.D.
Our goal for the evening is to support parents so that they can understand the math that is taught in today’s classrooms and, in turn, engage more actively in their children’s mathematics learning, both at home and at school. Check out the flyer HERE for additional information!
