Because I didn't put in the work every day like I could have. I made a few excuses, and allowed myself to slip. Remember, this business only works if you do! And I'll be the first to admit I let the excuses creep in and hid behind the fact that "life just got in the way". But I'm cracking the whip this month on myself, and will do the same for you if that's what you want!

A WORD OF ADVICE
Put me in, coach.
We've all heard it before: the only traits you need to be successful in this business are the desire to help others and the willingness to be coachable. So here's the tricky question... Are you being coachable?
This is something I struggled with for the first 18 months of my business, give or take. I was being coachable, right? I mean, if something was suggested that I didn't want to do I didn't have to do it, and if I thought there was a better way I would figure it out, and if I could lead my prospect all the way through my funnel on my own I didn't really need to bring my direct any 3-way calls, right? WRONG.
I'm not telling you to be a lemming and jump off the cliff because everyone else is jumping. You know I encourage you each to take your business by the horns and do what feels right for YOU... but if you find yourself trying to completely re-invent the wheel, I invite you to sit down and re-evaluate your recruiting process for both Preferred Customers and Consultants. Our RFx, Lexus and LV Leaders got where they are for a reason - they trusted the system and followed it as closely as they could. Did they make a few small adjustments? Absolutely. Did they trying to change everything and do it all themselves? Absolutely NOT.
Here are five things I encourage you to adopt this month to show you're being coachable:
- Find a leader you admire and DO what they do
- Set recruiting goals for the month, including daily activity goals, AND DO THEM
- Be open to, and learn to master 3-Way calls
- Start your month off with a power shot call with your direct - reach out to them and schedule
- Lead like you would want to be led whether you have a team of 1 or 100
And perhaps the most important piece of advice I can offer is be a student of this business. Continue your education. Always. Listen to a training call once a week, but don't get lost in calls. The rest of your week should be about reaching out, building relationships and living your life! Don’t get lost on Facebook. Don’t get lost making spreadsheets. Don’t get lost trying to learn everything all at once. Learn as you earn! If you are waiting to be a "perfect Consultant", it will never happen. And always remember duplication! What you do, your team will do. What you don’t do, they won’t do. Now let's kick June in the teeth.
