Pre - K
Pre-Kindergarten students will be learning about how to make Healthy Choices, Healthy Habits and how to solve a problem.
Reading: The student will work to recognize and name at least 20 letters. The students will recognizes and produces at least 10 letter sounds. And the student will attempt to write first name using legible letters with help, also the student will be listening stories and recall them with at least two events, the student will recognize the characters and the setting from the story read.
Math: The student will be working counting forward to 10 and identifies numerals one through five. The student will work to demonstrate one to one correspondence counting objects to 5. The student will identify sets of objects to 3 (without counting) and will copy patterns of sound & physical movement.

Los estudiantes del Pre- K estarán aprendiendo acerca de cómo tomar decisiones saludables, hábitos saludables y como resolver un problema.
Lectura: Los estudiantes estarán estudiando para reconocer y nombrar al menos 20 letras. Y trabajara para reconocer y producir al menos 10 sonidos. El estudiante también continuara tratando de escribir su nombre con ayuda. También los estudiantes estarán escuchando historias las cuales tratara de recordar por lo menos 2 eventos importantes, al igual que los personajes y el lugar donde se encontraban en la historia.
Matemáticas: Los estudiantes estarán estudiando contando hacia delante hasta el 10 e identificara los números del 1-5. También demostrara la correspondencia de uno a uno al contar hasta 5 objetos. Trabajara para reconocer grupos de hasta 3 objetos sin contar y realizara patrones de sonido y de movimientos físicos.

Kinder
Reading - Theme: Animals
Big Question:
Where do some animals live?
Focus Lessons: Theme and Genre, Poetry, and Expository Texts.
The students will learn about places some animals live.
Writing –Expository
Students write expository (and procedural or work-related) texts to communicate ideas and information to specific audiences for specific purposes.
The students will write about their opinion on various topics, such as their favorite food, holiday, or gift.
Math – Solid and Flat Shapes
A) identify two-dimensional shapes, including circles, triangles, rectangles, and squares as special rectangles
(B) identify three-dimensional solids, including cylinders, cones, spheres, and cubes, in the real world
(C) identify two-dimensional components of three-dimensional objects
(D) identify attributes of two-dimensional shapes using informal and formal geometric language interchangeably
The students will identify solid and flat shapes, such as cubes, pyramids, hexagons, and pentagons.
Science – Matter and Energy

The students will experiment with how materials can be changed by heating or cooling, such as water freezing and melting.
Social Studies – Where we Live
identify the physical characteristics of place such as landforms, bodies of water, natural resources, and weather.

First Grade
Reading - Students will be researching information on countries using books, articles, internet etc.
Writing - Students will continue developing their writing using Write from the Beginning with a focus on personal narrative writing.
Math - Students will learn numbers up to 20 and then transition onto addition and subtraction to 20.
Science - Students will learn about changes from heat; how changes occur when objects are heated and cooled.
Social Studies - Students will be looking into different celebrations that occur around us.

Happening in the Library!!!
Have you read to your kids today? If not, now is the time to pull out a book and read, read, read!!! Students in grades K-4 are allowed to come to the library to check books out daily with parent permission (form given at the beginning of the year). The library is open from 7:20-2:30 daily and close for lunch from 12:25-12:55. Students can also take Accelerated Reader (AR) quizzes on most of the books that they check out from the library. They can access this program only at school, however, reading the books at home and coming to school to quiz is always helpful. There are also more resources and tools for students and parents to use at home with their child. Stay tuned to more events and activities that will happen in the library!!! Go anywhere. Learn anything. Read every day.

¡¡¡Sucediendo en la Biblioteca!!!
¿Les ha leído hoy a sus niños? Si no es así, ahora es el momento de sacar un libro y ¡¡¡Leer, leer, leer !!! A los estudiantes en los grados K-4 se les permite venir a la biblioteca para sacar libros diariamente. La biblioteca está abierta de 7:20 -2: 30 todos los días y cerca para el almuerzo de 11:30-12:30. Los estudiantes también pueden tomar cuestionarios de AR (lectura acelerada) en la mayoría de los libros que se echa un vistazo de la biblioteca. También hay más recursos y herramientas para los estudiantes y padres de familia para usar en casa con su hijo. ¡¡¡Manténgase en sintonía con más eventos y actividades que tendrán lugar en la biblioteca!!! Vaya a cualquier lugar. Aprenda todo. Lea todos los días.
