Clinton Cougar Newsletter

January 2022

Dear Clinton Families,

I hope you had a wonderful and restful holiday break! I have sure enjoyed seeing the children's smiling faces back at school this week.

We have several schedule changes to be aware of this month. This includes early-out days next Thursday and Friday for teachers to prepare end-of-term grades. This is followed by two days off school on Jan. 17th-18th. Additionally there are early out days on Jan. 26-27th for Parent/Teacher Conferences.

Conferences will be in-person. We ask that only parents/guardians attend the conference with their student, and that extra family members stay at home. If you would prefer a digital conference option, you can reach out to your child's teacher to set that up. More information about signing up for conferences, will be coming soon.

This time of year can be cold and snowy. Make sure your student is coming with a coat, sturdy shoes, and warm clothing that is appropriate for outdoor recess.

We see a lot of learning and growth in our students and look forward to a great month!

Counselor's Corner

This month we are focusing on attitude and how it influences all aspects of our lives. It can increase or decrease stress, influences how we interact with others in positive or negative ways, and how we think about ourselves.

Lunch is on us!

Cafeteria meals are currently free for all students!

Please continue to sign up for Free/Reduced Lunch, as there are sometimes other benefits attached. You can do this through your MyDSD account.

The PTA will be sponsoring a skate night at Classic Fun Center in Layton on Monday, January 31st from 5:30-8:30. Admittance to skate is free. Hope to see you there!

Volunteers Appreciated!

We would love to have an extra pair of hands in the lunchroom to help with opening milk, seating students and such. A background check is required. If you would be willing to spend an hour a week volunteering, we would love to have you. Contact the office.

Big picture

Friday School Spirit Day!

Our classes are having a school spirit competition each Friday to see who can show the most school spirit. Students should wear a school shirt, blue shirt, or grey shirt in order to be counted towards the class total for the most amazing school spirit. The winning class gets to display the spirit wreath for the following week.
