12th night character: Malvolio

Identity
In the play, Malvolio is a servant. and he knows that he is a servant.but deep down inside, he thinks that he deserves better, and should be an upperclassman. "Just think of me, having been married to her for three months, sitting around majestically. Calling my servants together, wearing an embroidered robe, having just come from a couch where I’ve left Olivia sleeping." ( ii.v.pg 3) This quote shows how Malvolio fantasizes about being wealthy.
Gender
Malvolio is male. Being a male, he fantasizes about being master of the house, with Olivia being his wife. "Just think of me, having been married to her for three months, sitting around majestically. Calling my servants together, wearing an embroidered robe, having just come from a couch where I’ve left Olivia sleeping." ( ii.v.pg 3) this quote shows Malvolio's hopes.
Perception
In the play, nearly all the characters are all reppelled, and some times even downright repulsed, by the sight of Malvolio. Maria, Toby, and Andrew all pull a prank on Malvolio. "(whispering) I swear, I’d like to beat the jerk so hard!" (ii.v.pg3) This is when Maria, Toby, and Andrew all pull a prank on Malvolio. The quote shows how much Sir andrew dislikes Malvolio.
