MD Blueprint and the Future of CPCS
Dear CPCS Families,
Curious about how the Blueprint (MD's educational funding law) will impact your child's school? The MD Blueprint, while well intentioned to equitably distribute money to public schools and the students that sit in them, is providing some specific budgetary challenges to charter schools like ours. We are learning more everyday. Come join CPCS/CCSA Leadership for coffee and conversation to learn more about the specifics for the future of CPCS and how we as a community can advocate for change that will allow us to keep our mission alive and doors open.

MINI CPCS FUNDRAISERS - UPDATE
Every little bit counts!
Halloween Candy BuyBack
A BIG thank you to our CPCS families and Lexington Park Dentistry. We collected 66.5 lbs of candy and earned $70.00! The donated candy and toothbrush kits were given to our local firehouses in both Hollywood and Lexington Park.
Holiday Plant Sale
Thank you to those who participated in the annual plant sale! Meadow Farms supplied us with a beautiful selection of holiday plants and greenery. The total raised was $100.00.
COMING SOON - Citrus Sale in January - Stay tuned...
Let's start the New Year off right with some delicious & nutritious citrus! Details to come!
First Annual CPCS Week of Giving
We are encouraging our school community to find special ways to give throughout the month of December. Please encourage your children and your family to use the giving calendar to complete at least five activities this month. Students can bring their calendars back to school on January 2nd to receive an act of kindness in the new year! Access the calendar here.
DECLARATION OF INTENT - ACTION REQUIRED
All families - Declaration of Intent - Due Dec 31st
The Declaration of Intent will be posted online for our current CPCS families and will be available to complete from December 1 – December 31, 2023. The Declaration of Intent will inform the school of your intentions for the 2024-2025 school year and assist in setting up the lottery process.
This will be a two-step process for some families. In addition to the Declaration of Intent, the lottery application MUST be completed for siblings who do not currently attend CPCS so that they can be identified in the wait list system.
It’s the season of giving and CPCS is running its first annual Bake-less Bake Sale through December 31! What does that mean? Instead of asking for help baking cakes and pies and cookies and inviting people to purchase them, we’re requesting the donations straight to our school. This is the perfect time to share the love you have for CPCS and help us reach out to supporters in our community who want to share the love too!
As a fun and lighthearted incentive, we’re offering prizes to the class that raises the most money and the class that has the highest quantity of donations. If we reach our goal, all students and families will be invited for a free movie night at CPCS!
Our goal is to raise $10K, and we know we can get there with the support from all of you! We ask that you share this fundraiser as far and wide as you can utilizing this link: https://givebutter.com/CPCSBakelessBakeSale
Be sure your donors select your student’s teacher for their class to receive the credit.
More information on donations can be found at this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cy11uToFtr6CWay6CLMe_5onGvpazJkv2iO5SO5HuJs/edit?usp=sharing
