Welcome to 1st Grade!
Hello! I am Bobbie Jo Kite, and I am delighted to be your child’s teacher this year! Teaching is a great joy for me, as I find it very rewarding! This year is going to be full of learning, fun, and adventure!
I would like to introduce myself to you. I grew up on a farm in Penn Laird. I have taught first grade for the past seventeen years. I went to James Madison University, where I studied philosophy and elementary education. I also received a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction for Elementary Education from EMU and another Masters endorsement in Educational Leadership from JMU. I very much enjoy teaching and watching my students learn and grow!
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Shannon, and our 6 year old son, Peyton. I also love to read, shop, bake, and ride bikes. I grew up on a farm, and I have a real soft spot in my heart for animals.
I look forward to meeting you at the Open House on Thursday, August 17th. Please plan to drop by anytime between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. (You are welcome to bring your child’s school supplies to the Open House.)
I absolutely love teaching first grade! It is incredibly rewarding to watch children learn and grow, especially as readers and writers! It is my mission to instill a love of learning in my students so that they might grow up to become lifelong learners. I am looking forward to a GREAT year!
