In honor of Black History Month and the 30th anniversary of the NASA tragedy, we are remembering the crew of Challenger STS 51-L that exploded on January 28, 1986. Dr. Ronald McNair, MIT physicist and the 2nd African-American astronaut to travel to space was on this flight. Christa McAuliffe, the first teacher who was set to go to space, was also a member of the crew.

AP teachers will set up a table showcasing their classes. Parents and students will drop in to learn more about the opportunities Newnan High offers. Several colleges will be there to answer questions about Dual Enrollment.

Title I Parent Workshops - Grade Level Meetings for 9th, 10th and 11th grades

Thursday, Feb. 4th, 6-8pm

Auditorium

9th & 10th grades will meet together from 6:00 to 6:45 pm.

11th grade will meet 7:00 to 7:45 pm.


*Students and parents will be able to stagger AP Potential Night with grade level meetings.

To Do List


  • The theme for the Black History Celebration this year is, "United we stand--divided we fall." Let's stand together and donate baked goods for the coffee shop that will accompany this year's program. All proceeds benefit the scholarship.


    Please fill out this form if you are willing to help out the with your baking/buying talents: BHC form The committee is accepting whole (like a cake or pie) and individually wrapped items. Please drop items in the AV Room any time before 5 P.M. on February 11.

  • Have all grades posted by 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 9.

  • Click in SLDS. Our goal is 50 page views per month.

  • Remind seniors that fees are now due.
  • Remind AP students that payments can be made starting February 1st to Lisa or Pat in the front office.
  • It is time to do Throwback Thursdays in your content areas! Review prior content covered with students in need of remediation and preview upcoming comment for those in need of acceleration. Remember the SGA and EOCT results from last semester when planning for Throwback Thursdays!
  • Have second semester teacher recommendations entered in Infinite Campus by next Monday, February 8.
