Attendance Challenge!
Students may be dropped off beginning at 7:15am. (Teachers are not on duty before 7:15, so please do not drop your student before that time.) Students are considered tardy when the bell rings at 7:50am. (Please also note that students must be picked up by 3:10pm, as teachers are no longer available to supervise students after that time.) To reward students who are at school every day and arrive on time, we will have a special, surprise activity every Friday. Help your student be part of the fun by ensuring their good attendance every day!
Please talk to your student about the importance of being at school, and arriving on time. Take steps to help your morning routine go smoothly and be sure to allow plenty of time to arrive at school before the tardy bell rings. Good school attendance is directly linked to higher grades and improved reading and math skills. Regular school attendance patterns encourage the development of other responsible patterns of behavior, and will help to give your child the best possible start in life. Please help us make this school year as successful and positive as possible!
Reminder--No School on Monday!

Technology Update Information
We are excited to announce that the NPS Board of Education recently approved the purchase of new Apple devices in Norman Public Schools to enhance the learning environment for your children.
The new devices are funded through the 2019 bond issue and support the district's iTech initiative to enhance educational opportunities for our students. Replacing the devices is fiscally responsible, as the initiative allows us to continue providing high-performing laptops for students while maximizing the buy-back rate for our older devices. In addition to new devices replacing older devices in classrooms, we will now have enough devices to accommodate the new state of Oklahoma mandate that all 3rd through 5th graders test online.
Please remember that student laptops are used to enhance instruction for our students and are used only when instructionally / developmentally appropriate. These devices will stay at the school and will not come home with your child. If you have any questions regarding the usage of these instructional tools, please contact the Jackson office.
For more information about the iTech initiative, visit www.normanpublicschools.org/iTech.
It's Almost Tiger Trot Time!
If your family knows of a business that would like to serve as an event sponsor, please share the attached sponsorship forms with them and encourage them to sponsor this fun event for our students. Sponsorship levels are available at $150, $250 and $400, and the sponsorship deadline is Thursday, September 19th. Thank you for helping us reach our fundraising goal of $25,000!
