PENN PRIDE: we have. we are.

We are ALL learning!

Students: One of the sweetest perks of working in a school is the opportunity to talk with kids about what they've been learning. Of course, you can do that too. Ask them. Make the question be about learning, rather than "what did you do today?"

Teachers: We are giving a lot of focus to math instruction this year. Teachers are learning together in their PLCs and striving to put that learning into action in the classroom. Last Thursday, our learning was focused on math common core state standards and the characteristics of effective instruction.

Yesterday teachers worked on preparing for Parent Teacher Conferences ... looking at data, thinking about your student and completing conference reports.

Penn Fun Night raised over $11,000!!! WOW! THANKS PTO!

We do strive to have 100% of students represented at conferences ... kids love to know their favorite people (parents and teachers) are talking about them.

HALLOWEEN Parade and Parties

We will celebrate Halloween on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

The whole school will be on parade at 2:00 pm. We'll be outside on the playground if weather permits or through the gym. Parents are welcome to come to watch.

Teachers will provide more specific info about their classroom parties.

Please remember: dressing up is fun. Let's keep it fun. No weapons, even play weapons, are allowed as part of costumes.

carline THANKS

I got an email last week thanking me for the carline. Yes, you read that right: someone being thankful for the carline. This parent acknowledged that it isn't perfect, but noted that her previous school didn't have a carline at all. This made my day! We do work really hard to have a safe and efficient carline and you all work really hard to drive safely and patiently. So, thanks! ~ Mrs. Heffner
