Alkali Metals
By Taylor Funk
What are Alkali Metals?
Alkali metals are chemical elements found in Group 1 of the periodic table. Lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, and francium are all alkali metals. Alkali metals are very reactive.
Uses of Alkali Metals
Alkali metals are used to make many important compounds. These include table salt, borax, potash, and washing soda. All of the alkali metals react with water vigorously to form hydrogen gas and hydroxide.
WHERE CAN ALKALI METALS BE FOUND?
Alkali metals can be found ionic compounds in nature but never in their pure state.
