CHS Update
9-22-19
3 Weeks In...
The school year, activities, athletics, and events are in full swing and it's been great to see how smoothly our students have gotten back into the groove. Each year as we see each class grow into their new role as seniors, juniors, sophomores, or freshmen, one of the best parts of CHS is how supportive our students are of helping their classmates with any adjustment in expectations, responsibilities, and decision-making that happens as a result of moving to the next grade level. We really are lucky at CHS to have the best students and staff around!
What's Coming Up at CHS...
College Fair
Our annual college fair will feature over 50 different post-secondary options including colleges, universities, trade schools, and military. Please join us Wednesday, 9/25, from 6 - 7:30 in the main gym with your child to talk to representatives from all of these institutions. It is never too early to start thinking about options and the further along a student is, it becomes a great opportunity to put a face with the name of a student who is submitting an application. Hope to see you there!
Hacking High School Night
Our first annual Hacking High School Night will be held on Monday, 9/30, at the high school from 5:45 - 7:30. This evening will begin in the auditorium and then will feature mini-sessions on a variety of topics presented by CHS staff and designed to provide support for all who are trying to help a student navigate high school. Participants will be able to choose 4 different sessions to attend with sessions being shared early this week in advance. Please join us for this important event!
Practice SAT/PSAT
We will be giving students a practice SAT or PSAT on 9/30 in the morning. Students in grades 9 - 11 will take this test and receive individual score reports back that will help as they prepare for the state assessments they take in the spring. We are excited for our students to show what they know as they have been working very hard during their advisory classes each day. Students who are enrolled in vocational classes through DCTC will be excused that morning and expected to participate in the practice version of the test.
