What's Up in 4th Grade!
*Hour of Code is next week! Please send your child to school with devices.
*MAP testing is underway. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest, eats a healthy breakfast, and has a healthy snack each day.
*As the weather begins to cool (finally) please send your child to school with a jacket as we go outside for recess as long as the temperature is above 40 degrees.
Language Arts
Comprehension strategy: finding facts and opinions in a text
Writing: revising and editing our expository piece about our favorite season
Math
Our math test will be Thursday, December 15.
Science and Social Studies
We are going to explore more on describing and comparing how American Indians lived. Students will learn about the culture and the elements of cultural borrowing from a specific scenario.They will also identify and explain the origins of various American Indian groups in Texas and North America, and compare where and how different American Indians lived followed by a descriptive writing.
Vocabulary to focus on : culture, cultural borrowing, artifact, economics and adaptation.
Social Studies Test: Tuesday, December 13th
