What I Made
Stumbled across this awesome blog just recently and loved the drawn procedures that accompanied his weird, wacky and fun creations. These make great examples for students to see different ways of presenting procedural texts. As well as viewing the procedure online you can also download it in PDF format along with any artwork you may need to create the project. As it is a blog, be sure to use the Find Stuff by category search feature on the right hand side. One of my favourites is the 'Snail Soup Decoy'

Books Should be Free
Books Should Be Free provides teachers with a wealth of opportunities to allow students to listen and view and read classic children's books. Download or stream the audio version or download the ebook version to display on your IWB - ready to read formats for iPads, Kindles, PCs and they are also available to download in text form. A great way to expose students to passages from a wide range of different texts without having to go hunting for them all at the library.
Lit 2 Go
Lit2Go is a free online collection of stories and poems in Mp3 (audiobook) format. An abstract, citation, playing time, and word count are given for each of the passages. Many of the passages also have a related reading strategy identified. Each reading passage can also be downloaded as a PDF and printed for use as a read-along or as supplemental reading material for your classroom. Some stories and poems also have student activity ideas that can be downloaded as PDFs. I particularly liked searching via the Collections section - ES1 be sure to check out the Mathematics collection.
Science Fun!
Howtoons
An amazing site designed to engage students in Science through comics and humour. Read the cartoon or watch the video to find out more about Howtoons.
Ignite ETech 2008: Saul Griffith
Curiosity Machine
The Curiosity Machine website contains videos of scientists talking about their work as well as hands on activities and guides for experiments and making things. A great way to promote an interest in all things science!
ARKive
I've previously featured the ARKive website due to the number of high quality images and videos available on the site that are suitable to use with primary aged students. This time around I'm featuring their fast growing selection of teaching resources. There are activities for Maths, Science, English and CAPA all based around amazing animals. Be sure to check them out.

Wildlife Fun 4 Kids
Wildlife Fun 4 Kids is an Australian site with loads of activities and printables themed around Australian wildlife. I really enjoyed their creative animal grass heads and their In the Kitchen section.
CSIRO
The CSIRO website has a stack of resources to explore. In the teacher section you'll find classroom activities, info on the Scientist in the Classroom project, information about careers in science and experiments from the Double Helix Club.
There's also a link to the SCOPE science TV program where you can watch previous episodes online!
You can also sign up to receive the weekly email Maths & Stats and Science which deliver weekly newsletters with experiments, links, competitions, upcoming events and hands on activities.
