RRVCS to CONTINUE home learning

Remote Learning January 2021

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The faculty and staff of RRVCS wish you a Happy New Year. We hope that your time away from school was restful and gave you and the kids the opportunity to spend time together enjoying each other's company and recharging your batteries.

It's not over yet, folks...

RRVCS reopens today, January 4, 2021, remotely, This decision is in the best interest of the students due to the continued high numbers of cases throughout the state, and specifically in Taos county. This is a good time to survey your home routines, work spaces, and screen limits outside of live sessions, centers, & activates assigned by teachers. Additionally, this newsletter offers curated resources for managing the pandemic-enforced school/home merger.

Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for Friday, January 15, 2021. Please set an appointment with your child(ren)s teacher(s). There will not be classes on that day so teachers are able to meet with families and students. Thank you for making time to discuss your child(ren)s progress.

Student Engagement

Please ensure that your child(ren) are participating every school day in both live sessions, assigned activities, and assignments. The teachers at RRVCS are putting in a great amount of effort to provide your child(ren) a quality education during this pandemic. We understand the difficulties and challenges that this time. is presenting for all and are doing all we can to keep your child(ren) engaged and motivated. However, we are unable to ensure that your child(ren) sign in to class each day. That is where we need you help and commitment. Students should be dressed and ready to learn every day that live sessions occur. It is of great importance that students are engaged, attentive, and progressing academically, physically, and socially through quality learning experiences provided by our excellent teachers.

Technology Update-There is a shortage of computers nationwide. With that said, it is of great importance that students take care of the device that is checked out to them. As a reminder, students should not have food or drink while using a school owned computer. The computers are checked out for the school year and need to be returned in May in good condition. Please take care of these devices and ensure that they are returned in good condition.
