Happy First Week of School!

We are so excited to welcome our Carman Cougars back to school tomorrow. Please remember we are in the Distance Learning phase and all learning will take place virtually for the first nine weeks. Students will begin using their Chromebooks on the first day. Please make sure you are familiar with how to log into the Chromebooks. If you need help, please contact helpdesk@parkwayschools.net or call 314-415-8181. If you have specific questions about your child's class or grade level, please contact their teacher for assistance.

Please remember the school day is from 8:30 - 3:30 each day. Please encourage your child to log in a few minutes before. Attendance will be taken each day.

School Supplies and Curriculum Materials

Carman Trails Supply and Material Pick Up is EXTENDED through Monday and Tuesday from 7:45 -3:45. Please call 314-415-6100 when you are in front of the school and we will bring your child's items out to you.

Previously Communicated:

We have exciting news! The school supplies will be distributed in kits for all of our students during the week of August 17. Here’s the link to access more information about the school supplies as well as the supply fee. https://www.parkwayschools.net/Page/10391

We are currently getting a team to help us assemble the first wave of curriculum materials that students will need during the first weeks of school (i.e - math workbook pages, writing workshop paper, level reading books or chapter books, etc).

All students will have school supplies already packed in their bag at the supply pick up. If you prefer to not receive these supplies, just let us know when you arrive - no questions asked.

Here is updated language posted on the district's website. "In order to support distance learning at home for the first quarter, elementary families can order and pay for the school supplies box now which you can pick up at school before school begins. School supply boxes are an optional purchase for families who prefer to have school supplies at home now to support distance learning."

We want ALL students to have the necessary supplies at home while participating in distance learning. If you prefer to have the supplies that come in the kit, we would love for you to have them. If you prefer to use your own supplies, we understand that too. There is an option for a payment plan, scholarship, or let me know if I can support your family in another way too. If you would like to speak in more detail about ordering the kit and paying the supply fee, please give me a call at 314-415-6101 or email at alove@parkwayschools.net .

First Days and Week of School

Our teachers have been prepping and thinking of the first day of school for a while. They are working to make sure essential components of the first days and weeks of school are present in a virtual setting. We are so grateful for all of the positive and encouraging messages we received last spring and we want you to know we have increased our structures and rigor this upcoming school year. Last year we rolled out eLearning (emergency learning) and this fall we are ready and prepared to tackle distance learning. You might wonder what to expect the first days and weeks of a new virtual school year. You will notice a great deal of community building, intentional planning of routines, as well as setting the expectations for the first nine weeks of school. Teachers will be working their magic! The magic you will witness most are not able to see because we are traditionally in the schoolhouse. You will see students learning to master new skills with and without technology. Learning will start on August 24 and as educators we are aware that it looks different as our students are becoming familiar with new routines and procedures. Thank you in advance for your patience, encouragement, and grace as we begin a new school year. We are so thankful for our Carman community!! #CarmanProud
