Dear Parents and Carers
Our Parents and Friends have had a busy few weeks, putting on the Father’s Day Breakfast and the Disco, preparing for next Friday’s Retro Music Bingo, and attending the P&F Meeting. We thank all the parents who so hard to create community in our school.
Well done to the students who participated in the Performing Arts Festival this week – you did a great job. Thank you parents for the wonderful costumes and Mrs McDonald for preparing the children so well.
The Year 3 to 6 children are looking forward to the Athletics Field Day tomorrow. We wish them a great day! While we celebrate achievement, we also encourage and celebrate having a go and participation.

A few places have become available for St Columba’s Kindergarten next year (2020) due to enrolled families moving out of the area or interstate. If you know of families interested in joining our Kindergarten, please encourage them to contact us as soon as possible.

Artist of the Week
Ivanka from Year 4 is the Artist of the Week. She was chosen for her awesome Australian animal artwork. Ivanka's favourite thing about her piece are the colours she chose. She loves art because it makes her happy. Ivanka likes Mrs Govorko's artwork because she inspires her.

Musician of the Week
Imogen Messent in Year 6 is the Musician of the Week. Imogen plays the guitar. Her teacher is Mrs Winata. Her favourite piece is called ‘Rocky Ground’. Her favourite composer is Debbie Cracknell and favourite performance was when she played ‘Romantic Memories’. In the future, Imogen would like to play the flute and also likes art.

Scholastic Book Club
Thank you to the many families who order through Scholastic Book Club for our school. The school library receives 20% commission and receives many new books for the library for all our students to enjoy reading.

Sausage Sizzle Pre-Order for Open Night and Sports Carnival
Open Night Sausage Sizzle - ORDER FORM BELOW
Please pre-order your hot dogs for Open Night for your family using the order form attached below. Hot dogs are $3 each. Drinks will be available for purchase from the canteen on the night.
Pre-Order forms are to be received by the school office by Friday 13 September 2019.
Sports Day Sausage Sizzle - ORDER ONLINE USING QUICKCLIQ
The canteen will be offering a ‘special’ for Sports Day on Friday 20 September.
Sausage in a bun for $3 and/or a juice box or water for $2. This is all that will be available for order on this day from the canteen.
Parents will be able to place an order for students, themselves and their guests through the online ordering system. Please place your total order under one student’s name.
All orders for both parents, guests and students need to be placed online by Wednesday 18 September.
Please ensure that you have ordered by Wednesday as no late orders will be accepted.
Sports Carnival Day Morning Tea for Mary MacKillop Centre - BRING A PLATE
Families are asked to bring a plate of morning tea (cakes (sliced), biscuits, slices, fruit etc.) on the Sports Carnival day (Friday 20 September). Please deliver morning tea donations to the undercover area. Morning tea is available for a GOLD COIN DONATION with proceeds going to the Mary MacKillop Centre.
Curtin University Hockey Club Summer School Program at St Columba's
Commencing Tuesday 15 October, 7:30am to 8:30am for 8 weeks. $80 per person. Year 1 to Year 6 students. The program caters for all skill levels. Coached by Aleisha Power, Hockeyroos Debutant and WA Thunderstruck team member.
