A NOTE from Ms. Remine:
Meal Distribution
On Friday, December 18, 2020, meal distribution will be at Harmony School of Innovation 1110 S Valley Mills Dr, Beverly Hills, TX 76711 from 3:00pm-4:00pm. We will distribute a 7 day meal box that includes breakfast, lunch and milk. SSO is a free meals program for all children ages 18 and under. Students 21 and under who are currently enrolled in a school and are identified as mentally or physically disabled are also eligible. Parents wishing to pick up a meal box without children present will need to present one of the following to verify guardianship: Individual student report cards, attendance record from parent portal of a school website, birth certificate, official letter/email from facility or school listing children enrolled, or other official ID cards (for example, IDs issued by a child care facility). Meal distribution will resume Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 9am-10am. For additional resources and locations to mobile pantries in your area during the winter break, please visit: Tarrant Area Food Bank, North Texas Food Bank, or Central Texas Food Bank. We are having elections in January. During this election, we will elect a board to complete the 2020-2021 school year. What does a board do? We work hand in hand with the teachers and staff to support and show appreciation to our school. ELA: this week we have some new sight words and spelling words to challenge us! Continue working on all of our old spelling and sight words and keep reading lots of books!

2C/2A ELA- This week we are learning about final stable syllables (le, tion, ture). We are taking our CBA 5 on Tuesday, which has a writing portion (Personal Essay). Our main focus this week is applying the UNRAVEL Strategy to our test! Remember CBA's count for a big percentage of the overall ELA grade! This will be the last grade I input in the gradebook! Try your best and BE PRESENT! For grammar, we are reviewing possessive pronouns, abbreviations, and irregular verbs. Christmas Party is on Friday!!!! Please donate store bought, INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED goodies to our class 2C Rm. 132 before Friday. Let's end this quarter with success and holiday cheer! -Ms. B.Martinez

Hello 3rd-grade families! As you know, this is our last week of school before Winter Break. Information about class parties has been sent via Dojo. If you have any questions please reach out to your homeroom teacher. Over the break, it is very important that students continue to work on their math facts. Students need to review their multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction facts DAILY. (5-10 minutes a day) Please get with Ms. Curtis if you need help finding resources. -Ms. Curtis

5th Grade
Hello 5th grade parents and guardians! We have almost made it to winter break!
We are wrapping up our unit on algebraic reasoning which includes prime and composite
numbers, order of operations (PEMDAS), writing equations to represent a story, and using
an equation to create a table and vice versa. I'll have a math practice packet available at the
school if you'd like your child to complete it to help them retain the concepts learned. Thanks and have a wonderful break!
In science we will be studying food webs(5.9B). The student is expected to describe the flow of energy within a food web, including the roles of the sun, producers, consumers, and decomposers.
In social studies we will be studying the Revolutionary War.The colonists soon found out that signing the Declaration of Independence was the easiest part of winning independence from Great Britain. They would also have to fight for their freedom. The Revolutionary War lasted from 1775-1783.-Mr. Walton
Winter break is almost here. In reading, we are working on the 5 types of text structure found in informational texts. We are also finishing up greek root words with suffixes this week. I will have a reading practice packet available at the school if you would like your child to complete it to help them retain the reading concepts we have covered this semester. Students can still read during the break on Raz Kids or Epic, there are a lot of great books on both programs. I hope everyone enjoys their break!
