D303 EARLY COLLEGE CREDIT NIGHT
D303 will be hosting an Early College Credit Information Night on November 30, 2022 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Charles East HS Auditorium. D303 offers in-school, part-time, and full-time options for Dual Credit through Elgin Community College. Representatives from Elgin Community College and Fox Valley Career Center will be available to answer questions.
For information before the meeting, follow this link to the information on our website. Please contact Ms. Ohlson if you have questions.
Portfolio Defense, 12/19-12/20
Because most part-time Compass students will have final exams at East or North on 12/19, they will be assigned a portfolio defense slot on 12/20 and will not be expected to attend on 12/19 if they have classes during 1st or 2nd period at their home high school. All Compass students will be assigned a portfolio defense slot that works with their final exam schedule, if applicable, allowing them to meet requirements at both high schools.
Students will receive their assigned time slot during the week of 12/12, and this information will also be shared with parents. Compass students will be expected to attend for the full day on the day of their portfolio defense as there will be other learning activities on that day as well. More information on this process will be shared in the next newsletter.
STUDENTS MAY COMPLETE THEIR LUNCH ORDER FOR THE WEEK BY CLICKING THE BOX ABOVE AND MAKING THEIR SELECTION BY 9:45 A.M. MONDAY MORNING.
DO YOU KNOW STUDENTS WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING COMPASS ACADEMY? ENCOURAGE THEM TO ATTEND OUR OPEN HOUSE -- WE STILL HAVE A FEW SPOTS OPEN FOR SECOND SEMESTER!

EXTENDED STUDY FOR STUDENTS
Please not that students who still need to make revisions on 1st quarter work in order to meet competency will need to develop a plan with their teacher to resubmit the work for assessment during their 1st semester portfolio defense in December. We support students who need extended time to demonstrate competency, in alignment with the "not yet" concept, but students who need this additional support must take the initiative to develop a plan with their teacher to focus their efforts effectively. These students are encouraged to work with their teacher during flex each day and/or to stay for additional academic support during Block D if they aren't scheduled during that time.

This week’s first snow is a great reminder to make sure the contact information you’ve provided the District is up-to-date. We want to ensure you’re getting timely alerts on inclement weather operations and other important notifications. Please take a moment to do the following:
View Notification Preferences/Enable Text Messages
District 303 will send notifications to families through the ParentLink system by text message, phone call and email based on your settings. Parents/guardians can view and edit their contact settings through the Home Access Center.
To receive timely emergency communications, we strongly encourage families to enable text notifications. For most people, this is the fastest way to receive and view important messages. Here’s how:
- From the HAC main menu, select the “registration” tab to view your contact settings
- Select the “edit” button to change your contact settings
- To enable text message notifications, enter your cell phone number in the SMS/text message field
- Select the “save” button
