What color best describes Jem?
Jem is a very confident and intelligent and daring person. The color that best describes Jem is blue. In the book To Kill A Mockingbird, Lee writes " 'I'm goin' downtown for a while.' He was changing his pants. 'Why? It's almost ten o' clock, Jem.' He knew it, but he was going anyway."(Lee 199). This is an example of when Jem was daring. He knew he wasn't supposed to leave the house, but he left anyway. Another example in the book is when Lee wrote "Dill and Jem were simply going to peep in the window with the loose shutter to see if they could get a look at Boo Radley" (Lee 69). This is explaining how he is daring and confident with his decision because he knew what he was going to do and he wasn't scared he was confident. So, since Jem is a very daring and confident person, the color that best describes him is blue.

What Symbol Would Describe Jem?
Symbol
A lion would be a good symbol for Jem because Jem is a leader. He is also very stubborn. He doesn't care what anyone thinks. When he and scout were being made fun of because of Atticus, Jem told scout to ignore them and to just keep walking. "'Come on scout,' he whispered. 'Don't pay attention to her, just hold your head high and be a gentleman.'" (Lee 117). Jem is strong in his own way and tries to be like his father. A lion is a good representation of what Jem is, brave, a leader and can hold his head high even if someone is awaking fun of him.

A Connection from Jem to a Main Point in the Story
Jem is a big brother to his sister, Scout. Going on adventures, waking up for school, playing outside and always being there for each other were just some of the things you would miss if they were gone. Naturally people grow and change, but little did scout know that things wouldn't always have Jem in the picture. In the book To Kill A Mockingbird Lee wrote, "Jem was twelve. He was difficult to live with, inconsistent, moody." (Lee 115)
This is showing not only that he is becoming more mature but also trying to discover who he really is. Everyone knows its hard to grow up, luckily for Jem growing up isn't to difficult.

minute, sir? ( lee 188). His curiosity helps him learn a lot of things
