Superintendent Message
We invite all interested shareholders and community members to attend our February Board Meeting this Thursday afternoon at 4PM. The annual State of the District will be presented at the beginning of the meeting during open session. The address, delivered by Superintendent Mueller, will provide information on how CUSD students rank in the region, a brief update on our budget, and an overview of the implementation of important district initiatives. The address will also introduce areas of focus on the horizon as we continue our mission to connect, challenge, and champion every child, every day.

"You can discover more about about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation." - Plato Students in Ms. Larson's class enjoy a game of 'Kick the Can' yesterday at Silver Strand. Did you know yesterday, February 5th, was the International Day of Play?! Thank you, Ms. Larson, for sharing experiences with students which Connect, Challenge, and Champion!

Curious and engaged students receive instruction as a former Islander (now leading a classroom of 2nd graders) introduces an activity; after completing a 'Kindness Challenge' prompt, and while listening to Concerto in A Minor: I. Allegro. Thank you, Village Elementary, for Connecting, Challenging, and Championing Every Child, Every Day!

Caught Being Awesome!
- CHS teacher Tam Hoang and staff member, Janet Jimenez were both Caught Being Awesome by a CHS parent "On a day CHS PTO was hoping to treat faculty and staff to a relaxing luncheon, Mr. Hoang worked tirelessly to help set up our event! Because he was hosting two (!) club meetings during lunch, Mr. Hoang wasn't able to enjoy camaraderie, soup, and salad with colleagues like the rest of the staff, but instead, he cheerfully pitched in and worked with PTO volunteers and Ms. Jimenez to ensure that ice buckets were filled, the buffet was set and that everything was ready for others. Mr. Hoang's giving nature inspires us. CHS PTO is grateful for Tam Hoang!"
- Three Community Members Nicole W., Suzanne W., and Katee A. were Caught Being Awesome by a parent " For going above and beyond as a parent of a CoSA student and current board member to help lead a fundraiser that was created directly utilizing the students networks to make sure these kids have a phenomenal program today and years to come. Thank you, you have been caught being AWESOME!!!"
Click here to recognize an employee or volunteer who goes above and beyond to make a difference. Those who are "caught" will receive a copy of the positive words that were shared about them and a "Caught Being Awesome" decal. Please take a minute or two to brighten someone else's day!
