Griffith Community Clean Up Day
Paranormal Society's Community Service Project!
On May 14, Paranormal Society students and two of their parents conducted a service project at Oak Hill Cemetery in Hammond, placing over 100 American flags on the graves of veterans. They then walked the cemetery and straightened existing flags and war emblems, while picking up any trash they encountered along the way. We are very proud of these kids and their families!
Students that participated were Mary Cox, Ashley Timm, Aubrey Wallace, Hanna Kountz, Damian Villalpando, Logan Vallandigham, Madi Depozo, Kirsten Edwards, Kayla Atkinson, and Erica Dross. Parents were Melissa Timm and Juli Ortiz.
As always, thank you for your community service!
Griffith Public Schools 2018-19 Leadership Academy Cohort Group
This year 3 community leaders participated. The members of the academy are the following: Jon Volkmann, Jim Marker, and Jen Hill. As the last meeting ended for the year, each one expressed their gratitude and appreciation for such an insightful academy in which they not only learned about every facet of a school system, but they were able to ask questions and feel as if they knew more about Griffith Public Schools than when they first stepped in to that beginning meeting in the fall.
We want to thank them again for their time and commitment to meeting with us throughout the school year! Thank you for being a vital member of our community and schools!
