Friday Features
10/1/21
Thank You!
Our Bears shopped for books at our Book Fair all last week! Thanks so much to those who volunteered their time and energy to keep our book fair open for business. Special thanks to Annie Qureshi and Jennifer Chen for their leadership in chairing the Fall Book Fair.
We'd also like to thank all of the parents who joined us for our Classroom Parent Orientation and the PTO Meeting on Wednesday evening. In addition to discussing this year's PTO budget, recapping the book fair, and discussing upcoming activities, we did a bit of brainstorming on ideas for additional ways the PTO can help enhance the school community. We'll have minutes in the next Friday Features so you can catch up on all the details and stay informed.
PLEASE NOTE: To try and reduce the number of emails you receive, the Friday Features will now be sent on an as needed basis (on Fridays) instead of every single week.
On Behalf of Homeroom Parents: Request for Class Funds
Our Homeroom Parents help to coordinate class celebrations and recognize the teaching staff throughout the year. To offset the costs of these activities AND limit how many times throughout the year that parents are asked for funds for teacher gifts, our Homeroom Parents request a single contribution of $20 per student just once at the beginning of the year. This covers 3 gifts for the teachers in the classroom (the holiday season, teacher appreciation week, and end of year gifts), as well funds some small supplies for the class parties.
Please pay for class funds online via PtBoard right on the main homepage/landing page.
Please note, class funds are NOT the same as PTO membership and go directly to your class parents.
Celebrate Our Week of Respect
Students and staff will participate in our annual “kick off” for the Week of Respect. Everyone is invited to wear the items that represent the pillars of character on each of the days listed below.
- Mon., Oct. 4 - Wear your brightest & shiniest neon or sparkly outfit
- Tues, Oct 5 - Wear as many colors as you possibly can
- Wed, Oct 6 - Wear BGS gear and/or BGS colors (navy blue & yellow)
- Thurs, Oct 7 - Wear sweatshirts and sweatpants
- Fri, Oct 8 - Dress to impress in your finest attire
Have You Done All You Can to Win an Amazon Gift Card?
