COVID-19 Update - Campus Closure Extended/Holiday
With the updated school closure through April, we will still be following our school calendar as published. This means that April 10 and 13 will be school holidays as we did not miss any days for bad weather this year. Although it sounds funny to talk about school holidays at this point, the translation for the remote learning environment is that teachers will not be providing instruction/activities on these days and will not be available for office hours.
STAAR/EOC TESTING UPDATE 2019-2020 School Year
STAAR for Grades 3-8 (all levels and subjects):
All State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) testing is canceled for April, May, and June of 2020.
Student Success Initiative (SSI) promotion and retention requirements for grades 5 and 8 are waived for the 2019-2020 school year.
Trivium Academy will determine promotion for grades 5 and 8 with the following criteria:
o recommendation of the student’s teachers
o the student's grade in each subject or course
o any other necessary academic information, as determined by the school
EOC for Algebra I, English I, and Biology:
All End of Course (EOC) testing is canceled for the 2019-2020 school year.
Students who are taking Algebra I, English I, and/or Biology this year will not be responsible for meeting that EOC assessment graduation requirement if they pass the course.
If students do not pass Algebra I, English I, and/or Biology this year, they are responsible for taking the EOC when they repeat the class for credit.
Auction Postponed
It pains me to post this announcement, but in light of the current circumstances, we felt it was best to postpone the Trivium Auction until further notice. Christina and I would like to thank you for your help with soliciting donations from businesses and also all grade level class donations we have received so far. Our plan is to keep them and include them in the auction at a later date. Also, a big thank you to our teachers and staff for their eagerness to donate of their gift of time to help make this auction a success. Although we cannot commit to a new auction date yet, we are still committed to hosting this fundraiser for our school. It will happen so stay tuned!
Until then, be safe and healthy. We wish you well and hope to see you back on the Trivium Academy halls soon.
Sincerely,
Michelle & Christina
