Join Us to Learn About Tech Tools to Enhance Your Reading and Writing Instruction.
Do you have students who struggle with reading and writing? Looking for free tools that will work for your student's unique needs? We will explore free and low cost tools to fill your digital toolbox to assist struggling students access the general curriculum. We will explore graphic organizers, text to speech, word prediction, email, Microsoft office features and many more. This one day face-to-face course focuses on supporting students with studying, reading and writing using the Universal Design for Learning principles.
Just some of the tools we will explore:
MyStudyBar
MyStudyBar is a tool that supports students with studying, reading and writing. The tool consists of a set of portable applications, that can be placed on a USB drive for students to take with there where ever they go. This is a FREE tool.
WordTalk
WordTalk is a free add-in for Microsoft Word – it will read any text on the page – you have to read their instructions before installing.
GingerIt
Ginger Software is a free web based floating toolbar that assist with spelling and grammar editing.
