Notes from the ASC...
UNITED WAY
Dear KCS Employees
I wanted to let you know that our annual United Way fundraising campaign is set to begin on Monday, October 2 and will run through Friday, October 13. Please think how you can be part of this year’s campaign. Can you consider contributing a small percentage of one month’s income in 26 incremental payments through payroll deductions over the course of one year? Giving up something like one small fast food meal or one bag of candy at the grocery store during a two week period makes this donation incredibly doable.
Considering contributing to this year’s campaign? We have several incentives to encourage participation in the 2017 United Way fundraising campaign:
· All employees who donate will be allowed to wear jeans to work on Friday, October 13.
· Incentive drawings will be held on Friday, October 6 and Friday, October 13, for the following categories of donors:
o Early Bird donors (drawing on 10/6 only) – 6 individual winners will receive a $15 gift card
o 1st Time donors (drawings 10/6 and 10/13) - 2 individual winners (one each week) will receive a $10 gift card
o Payroll Deduction donors (drawing 10/6 and 10/13 for those giving a minimum gift of $26 through payroll deductions) - 10 individual winners (five each week) will receive $20 gift card
o United Way Supporters (drawing on 10/13 only for those giving any amount toward the 2017 campaign) - 8 individual winners will receive a $5 gift card
The United Way does great work in our community and they are excellent stewards of the money raised in each fundraising campaign. The United Way of Greater Kingsport has set a goal of $3.6 million for this year’s campaign and the Kingsport City Schools goal for contributions is $30,000. Last year, KCS employees donated $28,172. Our 2017 goal is achievable if we work together to accomplish it!
Please thoughtfully consider how you can give to the United Way of Greater Kingsport, because…. “United We Fight. United We Win.”

Drafts of content will be due at key benchmarks throughout the fall and winter. A majority of the work can be completed remotely outside of regular school and business hours. Subject matter experts will be expected to attend five face-to-face meetings. They will also be expected to participate in monthly check-in meetings, hosted via conference call or webinar, with the project lead.
