What Did We Learn This Week?
Math: We tallied our winter break activities and created a bar graph to show our results
Writing: We wrote about the different things we did over our break
Reading: We read books about winter and worked on our reading stamina
Leader in Me/Class Goal: We are working on our hallway/line expectations. Ask your kiddo to sing our lineup song! If we reach our goal of 5 days with no more than 2 reminders, we will earn a "Stinky Feet Day".
INTRODUCING: Golden Tickets! We are excited to report that we are earning golden tickets in our classroom for following classroom and school expectations. There will be opportunities every Friday to cash them in for a variety of rewards.
HAVE YOU OPTED IN TO RECEIVE TEXT NOTIFICATIONS FROM PCR-3?
School Messenger is our automated phone calling and text notification system. We use this system to notify parents quickly for sudden changes in schedules due to emergencies, school cancellations, or just important school announcements.
If you aren't receiving the District's text reminders and notifications and would like to opt in to receive these, simply text "YES" to 67587. Standard text messaging rates apply.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
In the event of a school cancellation or delay, we will implement one of the following plans:
- Plan A (No School and No Remote Learning) - PCR-3 will implement traditional inclement weather days (Plan A or Plan B), until we reach a threshold that would push the school year past Memorial Day.
- Plan B (No School, No Y-Club, No Remote Learning) - PCR-3 will implement traditional inclement weather days (Plan A or Plan B), until we reach a threshold that would push the school year past Memorial Day.
- Plan C (Two-Hour Delayed Start) - Here is Barry's 2 hour late start schedule. (District Information)
- Plan D (Inclement Weather Virtual Learning Day/AMI Day) - Here is the District Information for this plan. If we were to utilize Plan D and have a Remote Learning/Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI Day), students will take home computers and/or materials needed for this day. You will be receiving specific information from me with details if we utilize Plan D.
Please complete the following OPT out form if your student does NOT need a Chromebook or charger for potential Alternative Methods of Instruction Days (AMI). If you do not complete this, we will be sending home a Chromebook and charger if an AMI day is a possibility. These will need to be returned the following school day.
What Can We Be Working On At Home?
Shoe Tying
Assistance with shoe tying will be very limited after Winter break. It is important that students know how to tie their own shoes as it limits distractions and off task behavior during learning periods. Please practice this skill with your students over the next few weeks and over break. Below are some teaching resources to use with your student! Putting on coats and gloves, zipping jackets, etc. are also necessary practices to be working on. Thanks for supporting your child in this practice!
Kids Teach Shoe Tying:
Don't Forget!
- PLEASE KEEP STUDENTS HOME IF THEY ARE SICK. If your child has vomited, had a fever, or other symptoms please keep them home for 24 hours. Click here to review our district's wellness policy.
- Please keep an eye on the weather and send students in appropriate attire!
- Please send a snack with your child daily! We are running out of extra classroom snacks and your child may not be provided with one each day.
- Practice letter and number cards/read for 15-20 mins a night!
🧊 Hats and Mittens Needed for Recess
As we get into the cold months, please remember we will be going outside for recess unless the wind chill is less than 20 degrees or it is actively snowing or raining. Students need coats, hats, and mittens daily for recess. If your student needs some, please reach out to Micah O'Donnell and she'll get them some.
BE SURE THEY ARE LABELED WITH YOUR STUDENT'S NAME!
