Principal's Message
October was another enjoyable month at Elmdale School. Despite the weather we were able to enjoy many learning experiences, including some outside. The grade 1's visited the Fire Hall and learned about fire safety from Firefighter Cindi. Our Grade 2 swimming lesson program is well underway and it's great to hear about all the new skills they are learning. Grade 3 & 4 skating has also begun, and the kids are having a blast at the rink. Thank you to all of our wonderful teachers for planning and organizing such amazing learning experiences for the students, and for the support staff and parents that help make these programs successful!
Just a reminder that Student Led Conferences are coming up on November 5. If you haven't already done so, please make an appointment using your Parent Portal account or by contacting the school office. We'd love to see each parent be able to visit the school together with their children to see the learning that is happening.
Report Cards will go home on November 23. If you haven't already done so, please sign up for electronic reports in the Parent Portal. This saves paper and ensures that you receive your report card in a timely manner!

Drop off & Pick up
Alternately, parents can park along Main Street (please do not use business' parking lots for this) and bring their children in the Main Street doors of the school.
Thanks for your cooperation with this.
Allergy Reminder
On September 12 a note went home indicating that due to some students at Elmdale with severe nut allergies we have become a "Nut Aware" school. As a "Nut Aware" school we are committing to doing our best to limit exposure to nuts for those students with allergies at school. Because of this we are asking that students do not bring peanut or peanut products (Peanut Butter) to school. If your child comes to school with a lunch containing a peanut product they will be asked not to open the packaging at school, and may need to phone home for a replacement lunch.
Some classes may have a student with a different allergy, and those classes have been informed accordingly.
Please assist us by making sure that your child's lunch & snacks do not include peanut products.
A Note from PAC
If you're interested in helping out with any PAC fundraisers or the Hot Lunch program, please email elmdaleparentcouncil@gmail.com to volunteer. More help is always appreciated!
