2nd Years News:

A new project has begun! After completing their successful first project, True Grit, the 2nd Year learners have begun their latest project, Really Really Critical Contributors (RRCC). 2nd Years set off on their entry event for the new project: to create a rap video detailing life of historical person. 2nd Years were given three days to research a person of their choosing, write lyrics, make a storyboard of their video, film, and edit their videos together to present them this week. As soon as 2nd Years completed this challenge, they began to learn more about this new project and ask Need-to-Knows about the task they were about to do. Really Really Critical Contributors in essence boils down to this: 2nd Years, by October 7 (This is their shortest project yet at just 2 weeks long, the halfway point being today!), are to write a historical fiction short story about a historical scientist or mathematician. This week, the 2nd Years have been involved in planning this story out, while learning and re-learning new skills along the way. With the glass of this project already halfway full, it is up to the determination and hard work of the 2nd Years and their teams to fill the rest of that glass as this new project quickly begins to climax.

4th Years News:

The 4th Years are at cruising altitude as they work to complete their deliverables for Project Runway. Mentor relationships have proved to be successful as they check in weekly on their progress. Their work in financial analysis and profit maximization has become particularly useful as they justify their proposed solution to their department's problem. They will return to Southwest Airlines on the 14th for presentations, look for a permission ship to be coming home next week.

Interested in Aviation?

LeTourneau University invites you to attend our Fall 2016 Aviation Preview that is to be hosted at our facility at the McKinney National Airport on October 22nd. The event will give you the chance to learn about LeTourneau's aviation program for both High School students and students that are planning a traditional four year route on-campus. In addition to learning about LeTourneau University and our aviation program, you will have the chance to meet some of our alumni that are currently working in the industry, meet some of our corporate partners like Envoy Airlines, and you will have the chance to fly in one of our airplanes.

The event is free of charge, and you can click here to register online. When registering, please note that there is a morning and afternoon session that is divided out by our partnering schools. If you do not attend a partnering school district or are home schooled, then please select the "other" option. If you have a schedule conflict with the time that your school is scheduled, please let me know, and we will be happy to work around your schedule the best that we can. The slots for these events typically fill very quickly, so please register as soon as possible to guarantee a spot.
