What is it?
The half pipe is a competition where the competitors one at a time ride down a steep ramp or semi-circular ditch. They perform tricks while going from one side to the other into the air. There scores are then based on there execution of tricks, variety of tricks, difficulty, pipe use, and amplitude.

Torah Bright is an Australian Olympic gold medalist of the half pipe in the 2010 women's division.
The Half Pipe
The half pipe is created after piling and digging from snow using heavy machinery. Its slanted downward to help the riders use gravity to develop speed and facilitate drainage of melt.
Shaun White
Shaun White is an American 2 time Olympic gold medalist of the half pipe in 2006 and 2010 men's division.
