It’s Feedback February - Student Experience & School Climate
Providing a safe, welcoming and caring school environment while partnering with our families has positively impacted student learning and personal growth. As we continue to measure these attributes of our school climate, engaging our students and families will help us assess where we have been, and where we currently are and identify opportunities to improve and grow for the future.
We invite our students and families to share their student experience and school climate this year. Leander ISD is partnering with K12Insights to help us collect your feedback. The results of this survey will provide critical evidence of progress for our LISD Strategic Plan, Campus and District Improvement Plans, and our Community-based Accountability System (CBAS). They will be used by campus and district leaders to guide our ongoing improvement efforts.
The LISD Student Experience/Climate Surveys for students (grades 3 - 12) and parents will be open from Feb. 22 to Mar. 19.
Preview the surveys (Note - you will not be able to take the survey from these links):
How will surveys be administered?
● Parents will receive an email with a link to the electronic survey from K12Insights. Link to Parent Survey
● Elementary Students (grades 3-5) will have the opportunity to participate in the survey during the school day. Students will log into the survey from a landing page provided by their teacher. Link to Elementary Student Survey
● Secondary Students (middle and high school) will have the opportunity to participate during the school day or anytime on their own. Students will log into the survey from a landing page provided by their teacher and/or through their LISD email.

Note: Students whose parents have opted out of district-level surveys this year will not be able to log into the survey and will be provided an alternative activity while their peers are taking the survey.

Relay for Life is Coming!
Vandegrift High School’s 13th Annual Relay for Life is back. Relay For Life is a student-run event. Relay For Life is a fundraiser event for the American Cancer Society. It not only raises money but honors, celebrates, and remembers those affected by cancer. This is the second year Relay For Life is back in-person since 2019. The last time we were able to have this fundraiser almost 1000 students and community members came together to support those affected by cancer. Relay For Life is Friday, April 14th, at 6 PM at Monroe Stadium. Sign up to participate and/or donate from the link below!

Join the VHS PTSA Today!
Parents ask how they can be involved & support the school --- Easiest step is to join the PTSA as a family (moms, dads, guardians, students). Please take a moment to join – the list of activities and support they provide year round to the staff, students and community is too numerous to mention. Return on your investment in dues and participation in the “write the check” fund-raiser is high. Form attached for check/cash enrollment, credit cards accepted at the PTSA store : vandegrift-mypta.org
